IGNITE Program: Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic

IGNITE incorporates a flexible schedule where students residing in Nova Scotia attend their local schools and complete the core classes for graduation/university prep through personalized plans built around their sport and education requirements.  This model allows student athletes the flexibility to rest, recover, train, study and compete.

• Athletes and coaches have identified the challenges of combining the demands of academics with the requirements of becoming high performance athletes.

• The Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic's (CSIA) IGNITE combines academic and athletic excellence. In most recent years, IGNITE has had 9 athletes compete at World Junior Championships and 19 athletes on age-group national teams.

• Athlete selection is based on an annual application only basis.

• Selection is based on age relevance (U16+) and performance metrics.
