It has been an exciting week on beautiful Lake Banook!
Members of the Canadian Men’s Canoe team took to the Lake Banook race course to determine who will continue their journey on the Road to Tokyo.
The Men’s Canoe team athletes planned to race in Burnaby, BC at the Olympic Team Trials. After complications during the competition, the race was postponed to a later date. Athletes Bret Himmelman (Maskwa) , Craig Spence (Cheema), Connor Fitzpatrick (Senobe), Andrew Billard (Maskwa), Drew Hodges (Rideau), Alix Pomteaux (Lac-Beauport) raced on Wednesday, April 21 on Lake Banook to establish who would takes the next step to Tokyo 2021.
A congratulations goes out to all athletes that took part in the Men’s C1 1000m Olympic Trials final. Additionally, an even larger congratulations goes out to Atlantic Division athlete Connor Fitzpatrick who took 1st Place and will now take the next steps to compete at Tokyo 2021.
