May COVID-19 Update

Hello All,

We have recently been informed that based on the restrictions put in place by HRM for COVID-19, Lake Banook will be closed for competition until May 31, 2020. Therefore the May 9th, 2020 Long Distance regatta has been canceled.

It’s certainly sad to hear but we must make sure to remember that it’s crucial for us to put our communities’ health and safety as our number one priority.

As this pandemic continues to unfold, we will continue to adjust the race schedule upon public health recommendations, policies, and coach discretion.

ADCKC Training Update

Dear Member Clubs,

Yesterday, Canoe Kayak Canada released its response to COVID-19. We at ADCKC support all of the measures outlined in the response.

As always, our top priority is the health and welfare of our athletes, coaches, staff, and volunteers.

Because of that, we are making the following recommendations:

  • Those who are in Canada should stay in Canada

  • Those in Europe should return and self-quarantine

  • Those at the Florida camp should make their own decisions. No new members, friends or relatives should join.

  • If clubs can isolate the athletes and take reasonable preventative measures in Florida they should do so.

Finally, all training groups at our facility in Dartmouth have been suspended until further notice.

Regards,

ADCKC Board of Directors
