We are thrilled to announce that Mike Kerrivan has been hired as the Provincial Coach with ADCKC!
Mike has coached, developed, and managed over 40 Canadian National Team Level athletes, including Olympic-level athletes. In 2022, he supported eight athletes on the Canadian Worlds Team, resulting in 12 world finals with eight medals. This includes the first-ever Paddle All World Championship test event.
He has mentored hundreds of community coaches and was named Ricoh Awards Coach of the Year in 2009. Mike also served as the Head Coach of Nova Scotia's Canada Games Team in 2009 and developed one of the most successful Canoe/Kayak Sprint Racing clubs in Canada. In his 22 years as Head Coach, he led the Cheema Aquatic Club to three National titles and served as the coaches' representative on the ADCKC Board.
This position is made possible with guidance and partnership from the Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic, Support4Sport, and Sport Nova Scotia through the Technical Leadership Employment Program.
As the Provincial Coach, Mike will work closely with the coaches and athletes to assess their strengths and weaknesses, develop personalized development plans, and support each to reach their full potential. Mike’s unique skill set will enable ADCKC to further support clubs along their pathway.
We are excited about what contributions and impact Mike will bring to the Division. Please join us in welcoming him to the ADCKC Team!
